Mullins Tyres has always had involvement in Motor Sport.
Niall Dow, owner of Mullins Tyres spent two years racing Stock Cars at Waikaraka Park then six years Saloon Car racing on dirt tracks in Papua New Guinea.
The No 5 car on the right was raced at Wairaraka Park by the local church ministers wife from Avondale - she was 56 years old and a grandmother.
Mullins Tyres have always been prepared to support families prepared to be out there racing and supporting their kids, whether it is with Go-Karts - 1/4 midgets at Western Springs Raceway or with mini Off-Roaders on dirt tracks. Mullins Tyres sponsorship includes discounted race tyre prices to members and free fitting.
Taupo 1000
Held every two years, the Taupo 1000 is the only international offroad race on the New Zealand motorsport calendar.
It attracts an all-time record entry of 78 teams, with four former champions racing and four international cars entered – three from Australia and one from the UK.
The organizers of the Taupo 1000 Off-Road race has given Mullins Tyres exclusive rights to the last two four day meetings held inTaupo.
The Mullins team of three off-roaders and additional support from Tyres4U (GT Radials & Continental Distributors) managed a good result in a very satisfying sponsorship weekend.

Mid West Street Rods
Mullins Tyres association with the Mid West Street Rods club goes back a few years with Hot Rod Shows in Titirangi and New Lynn plus representation at the Kumeu Hot Rod Show.
Alary (co-owner of Mullins Tyres) even arrived at their wedding four years ago in the Presidents roadster. Niall recently organised a show in March at Snells Beach to again fly the Mullins Tyres flags.
So whether it be the Avondale Xmas Parade - the Cup Day at Avondale Racecourse - the Muriwai Golf Day for Rosebank Business Association - or a fundraiser for one of our local Sports Clubs - there is bound to be a Mullins Tyres association in there somewhere!
